Argus Rentals was founded in 1959. The company was established with the simple intention of offering cheap car hire without compromising high standards of service or value for money.
Over the years, Argus Rentals has seen much change and expansion. From a small family-run rental fleet in Dublin, Argus Rentals has grown into one of the world’s leading online car hire suppliers. Argus has always been innovative in its approach to business. Fifty years ago, when Argus rented out its first car, it was one of the first businesses of its kind in Ireland. By 1996, Argus Rentals had become the first car rental company in Europe to offer its sevices online.
Utilizing the technology of CarTrawler, in 2004 Argus introduced a new booking engine which allowed suppliers to offer their cheapest fully inclusive rates to customers.
Today, Argus Rental’s booking engine stocks 800 of the world’s car rental suppliers at 30,000 locations globally.
