The Imperial War Museum, London, located on the Lambeth Road, is an exploration into the wars and conflicts that have marred the world in recent centuries. Expect to see exhibits on World War I and II, the Holocaust and a gallery devoted to people giving their accounts of Crimes Against Humanity. This is not always a nice museum to visit; some visitors may be disturbed by what they see. Please check with the institution for further information on the exhibitions.

The Tower of London, home to the crown jewels, survived the bombings in World War II and is still looking great after centuries of 'protecting' the city. There are more than 11 Towers bursting with interesting artefacts. From the dazzling Crown Jewels to execution rooms and the Bloody Tower (where two child princes were executed, probably at the behest of their uncle) The Tower of London is an excellent way to step into what was the, often gruesome, past of the city. The famous Yeoman Warders, better known as Beefeaters direct and guide visitors, explaining the significance of the Tower relative to the history of the country.

Dennis Severs’ House, located on Folgate Street, is a totally different museum experience. Suspend disbelief and step into a 'real life' 18th century house complete with the sounds, smells and the 'presence' of the dwellers. This is a brilliantly executed work of art by Dennis Severs and should definitely be on the 'to do' list when visiting the city (not suitable for children).
