London Event Guide
There isn't another city quite like London when it comes to year round entertainment. Theatres, West End shows, concerts and performances of all genres are easily accessible. Many of the larger parks in the city have performances of varying art forms, particularly during the summer. Below is a list of just some of the events that are held every year in and around the city. Please contact the event location/provider for further information to avoid disappointment.
The London Festival, held in June/July, is the quintessential English celebration of the Arts. This two-week extravaganza of music and art is held in the public parks and beautiful buildings of 'The Square Mile'. For more than two weeks the festival highlights the talent of all performers involved, all the while bringing a new element of enjoyment to the unusual venues.

The Lord Mayor's Show, held every November, has been a tradition for more than 800 years. If visitors want to see wonderful ceremonial costumes, carriages, parade floats and military parade, this is one event to see. 2005 is a particularly poignant event- it is the last year Veterans from the Armed Forces will gather in remembrance of World War II.
The London Jazz Festival, held in November in venues across the city, brings cool smooth tunes and innovative performances to the people. Many of the events are free and by world-renowned artists. For more information please check the details on the Royal Festival Hall site.
The World Travel Market, held in the ExCel Arena every November, is a major event for people and companies involved with the travel industry. This business-to-business exhibition is a great way for people from around the world to network and learn about the new developments in this area.
The Christmas Festival in the Albert Hall, held in December, is a series of events to start off the seasonal cheer through choral celebration. Visitors should be ready to join in so make sure the vocal chords are ready to sing out and join in the melodies!

The Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree will brighten up even the darkest winter day. Visitors can enjoy the sight of the huge glittering tree towering over the square- a calming sight after a day's hectic shopping.
