Deia

Deia is a charming mountain village that is really picture-postcard perfect. It has long been somewhat of a refuge for artists, writers and bohemian sorts - it is a peaceful place with astounding natural beauty, a million miles away from the neon and noise of the party 'strips' around the island. It is certainly a destination that is very popular among tourists, and will most likely have a good few visitors, but it has retained its quiet and tranquil allure.

The town is perched high in the mountains on the west side of Mallorca and overlooks the sparkling Mediterranean. We recommend a walk from here down through a dirt track through fragrant olive groves to find the cala (cove), a wonderful spot to spend an afternoon sunbathing, swimming or just relaxing.

Valldemossa
