Ljubljana Airport, also known as Brnik Airport, is situated roughly 26 km (16.1 miles) north of Ljubljana. There are many activities to keep you busy, including a lovely zoo, a water park (Water City of Atlantis), and a spa/swimming pool resort (Laguna Fun & Spa). While there is an admission charge for these activities and facilities, they are all reasonable and should not do too much damage to a budget.

Eating Out/Nightlife in Ljubljana

There is plenty of choice for budget conscious tourists in Ljubljana - good food (and good portions) at low prices is easy to find throughout the city. One low cost and quite unusual option is the 'Hot-Horse' fast food outlet - serving only horsemeat! There is a large selection of mid-range restaurants that serve a great variety of different meals, and the low prices and generous portions in most of these establishments make them ideal for budget travelers. Recommended are 'Luka's Gourmet Lunch Café' and 'Gostilna Sokol'. The most expensive restaurants in Ljubljana are still quite cheap by western European standards, so even those looking for a low cost holiday can still enjoy some fine dining at a reasonable price.

The nightlife in Ljubljana is lively, with most of the bars and pubs located parallel to the river, near to Prešernov trg - the cities main square.
