Galway Guide

Galway is located in the west of Ireland and is the largest city in the region. The city is renowned for artistic and cultural exhibits and its fantastic array of musical venues. Restaurants serving up local seafood and fresh produce complement the nightlife of clubs and pubs. Galway Cathedral is a dominates the city; it was  completed in the 1960s with a rash of influences from the renaissance to the Roman. Listings of musical recitals can be found in the local press. The medieval church of St. Nicholas of Myra dates back to the 1300s and has been built, damaged and extended over the centuries. Despite the trials of the past, the church is still very much in use for services and performances.
