Corfu International Airport is also called Ioannis Kapodistras International Airport, and is a small but very busy airport on the beautiful Greek island of Corfu. Located just 3 km south of Corfu town, the airport is at its most busy from April to October, and in particular the peak summer months when countless tourists flock to the island for summer holidays.

The highly developed coastal resorts offer all the typical attractions and amenities to be found in all sunny resort areas, but there is much more to be discovered on this Grecian gem. Of course, languid days spent by the azure sea may be exactly what you want from a holiday in Corfu, with the odd gimmicky banana boat ride and such, but there is a wealth of attractions and activities that are off the beaten track to be found throughout the Island. Inland, the island is relatively undiscovered, and a drive in your rental car around the island can reveal a side to Corfu that many are not privy to. Charming villages punctuate winding roads, and it is here that a true sense of Corfian lifestyle can be attained - look out for restaurants serving Pastichio (a Greek lasagna), it will be cheap and of a very high standard!

If you want to get out of the town, go to Kanoni where you can take a ferry to the two islets off the coast. A cheap excursion, it is a lovely way to spend a day. At Agios Gordios you can rent kayaks for low cost, and use them to explore some secluded inlets and beaches.
